Research project: Industrial Indoor Localization (IIL)
Research area: Indoor localization, mobile robotics, location-based services
Funded by: European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) together with Investitions- und Förderbank Hamburg
In cooperation with: Jungheinrich GmbH, Still GmbH, Pepperl+Fuchs GmbH, Sick AG, Institute of Aircraft Production Engineering (TUHH)
Start of the project: 09/2017
End of the project: 02/2019
ABOUT THE PROJECT
As part of the Industrial Indoor Localization (IIL) research project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, an open-source software standard for environment modelling in the age of Industry 4.0 is being developed to simplify the provision of location-based services. This will reduce development costs and ensure simple expandability. A demonstrator will be implemented using the example of the intralogistics use case.
The consortium consists of the two providers of intralogistics solutions STILL and Jungheinrich, the sensor technology providers Pepperl+Fuchs and SICK and, as university partners, the Institute of Aircraft Production Technology and the Institute of Logistics Engineering at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH). The research project, which will run for 18 months, began on September 1, 2017.
