TECHNICAL LOGISTICS AND AUTOMATION LABORATORY
TECHNICAL LOGISTICS AND AUTOMATION LABORATORY
Language: German
Period: Summer term
Participant limitation if applicable
Learning objectives:
Familiarisation with a programmable logic controller PLC
Basics of neural networks
Train and implement your own neural network using a prototype
CONTENTS
In the Technical Logistics and Automation laboratory, students learn about instruments for digitalisation and automation in the logistics environment on a laboratory scale.
The lab consists of two parts:
(1) Introduction to programmable logic controllers. Using laboratory experiments, students independently acquire basic programming skills for the development of industrial control systems. The programming language Codesys is used for this.
(2) Machine learning. The foundations are laid for the development and use of neural networks. To this end, participants learn about the corresponding programme libraries in the Python programming language. In their own laboratory experiment, they will implement a neural network for recognising geometric objects using an infrared sensor.
The course takes place in the laboratories of the Institute of Technical Logistics.
The examination consists of a laboratory test including functional prototypes and programmes.
