style=\"--awb-text-font-family:&quot;Poppins&quot;;--awb-text-font-style:normal;--awb-text-font-weight:400;\"><p><em>Building Information Modeling (BIM)<\/em> describes a method of networked planning, execution and management of buildings and other structures using software. Building Information Modeling is used in the construction industry for construction planning and execution (architecture, engineering, building services, civil engineering, urban planning, railroad construction, road construction, hydraulic engineering, geotechnics) as well as in facility management.<\/p>\n<p>All relevant information about a building is summarized and used during construction or after conversion and renovation work to assess the actual and target condition (as-built\/as-planned condition).<\/p>\n<p>The as-built condition is recorded using 3D sensors such as laser scanners. The processing of this 3D measurement data as well as the updating of the BMI models is done manually.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the project is to test software that automatically extracts and processes relevant measurement data in order to avoid time-consuming manual processing.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute for Technical Logistics, together with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamburg.de\/bsw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ministry for Urban Development and Housing<\/a>, is investigating whether the facility management (FM) of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamburg.de\/politik-und-verwaltung\/behoerden\/behoerde-fuer-stadtentwicklung-und-wohnen\/aemter-und-landesbetrieb\/abh-155894\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">public building construction <\/a>in Hamburg in the area of technical building equipment can be supported by the use of 3D data.<\/p>\n<p>First, an analysis of the current situation is carried out to determine the requirements of 3D object recognition and 3D sensor technology.
