The <\/span>TU Hamburg<\/a> mourns the loss of Professor Dr Jochen Kreutzfeldt<\/span><\/p>\n

Professor Kreutzfeldt was appointed to Hamburg University of Technology in 2016 and founded the Institute of Technical Logistics at the Dean’s Office for Management Sciences and Technology Management. Under his leadership, the institute grew to a remarkable size in just a few years through innovative research projects and extensive industrial cooperation and was quickly able to establish itself as an important member of the group of logistics institutes of the renowned Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Technische Logistik e.V. (Scientific Society for Technical Logistics). The close cooperation with Jungheinrich AG and the Dr Friedrich Jungheinrich Foundation, whose support of the Institute of Technical Logistics created the framework for important research work and innovations, should also be emphasised. During his scientific career, Mr Kreutzfeldt has made pioneering contributions to the integration of new technologies, such as robotics and artificial intelligence, into logistics.<\/p>\n

ochen Kreutzfeldt graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from the Leibniz University of Hanover in 1988 and was awarded a doctorate in engineering with honours from the Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools there in 1994. He then worked at Autoliv for 10 years in various management positions, including product controlling, production manager and head of product development in Europe. From 2004 to 2015, Mr Kreutzfeldt was Professor and Head of the Institute for Product and Production Management at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. In 2016, he moved to Hamburg University of Technology as a professor and founded the Institute of Technical Logistics.<\/p>\n

His sudden and unexpected death on 16 November 2023 leaves a huge gap in the circle of professors, in research and teaching, and above all among his staff and students. He will be missed in many ways. Mr Kreutzfeldt was highly respected for his professional expertise, his approachable and appreciative manner and as a passionate university lecturer at TU Hamburg and far beyond. His large industrial network enabled him to transfer knowledge in both directions, from university to industry and vice versa, in order to identify current and future developments, address them in research projects and incorporate them into teaching.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jochen Kreutzfeldt schloss 1988 das Studium des Maschinenbaus an der Leibniz Universit\u00e4t Hannover als Dipl.-Ing. ab und wurde 1994 am dortigen Institut f\u00fcr Fertigungstechnik und Werkzeugmaschinen mit Auszeichnung zum Dr.-Ing. promoviert. Anschlie\u00dfend war er 10 Jahre bei der Firma Autoliv in verschiedenen F\u00fchrungspositionen besch\u00e4ftigt, wie im Produktcontrolling, als Produktionsleiter und als Leiter der Produktentwicklung in Europa. Von 2004 bis 2015 war Herr Kreutzfeldt als Professor und Leiter des Instituts f\u00fcr Produkt- und Produktionsmanagement an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg t\u00e4tig. 2016 folgte dann der Wechsel als Professor an die TU Hamburg und die Gr\u00fcndung des Instituts f\u00fcr Technische Logistik.<\/p>\n

Sein pl\u00f6tzlicher und unerwarteter Tod am 16. November 2023 rei\u00dft eine gro\u00dfe L\u00fccke im Kreis der Professoren, in Forschung und Lehre, und vor allem bei seinen Mitarbeitenden und Studierenden. Er wird in vielfacher Hinsicht fehlen. Herr Kreutzfeldt war wegen seiner fachlichen Expertise, seiner zugewandten und wertsch\u00e4tzenden Art und als leidenschaftlicher Hochschullehrer an der TU Hamburg und weit dar\u00fcber hinaus hochgeachtet. Sein gro\u00dfes industrielles Netzwerk erm\u00f6glichte ihm den Transfer in beide Richtungen, von der Universit\u00e4t zur Industrie und umgekehrt, um aktuelle und k\u00fcnftige Entwicklungen zu identifizieren, in Forschungsprojekten zu adressieren und in die Lehre einflie\u00dfen zu lassen.<\/p>\n

Mit Herrn Jochen Kreutzfeldt verliert die TU Hamburg einen hochgesch\u00e4tzten, engagierten Professor, einen zukunftsgewandten Forscher und einen hervorragenden Wissenschaftsmanager. Die TU Hamburg trauert mit seiner Familie und wird Herrn Professor Dr.-Ing. Jochen Kreutzfeldt ein ehrendes Andenken bewahren.<\/p>\n
