ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Industrial Indoor Localization 2 (IIL 2) project is being run by the Still research consortium, Pepperl+Fuchs and two TUHH institutes. This is the follow-up project to IIL, which resulted in an open-source software standard for environment modeling (RAIL) including a demonstrator. Building on this result, the IIL 2 project focuses on the further development of RAIL until it is suitable for industrial use. Furthermore, several location-based services (LBS) are being developed that actively use the RAIL software standard to demonstrate the short and medium-term potential of the system for industry.
The newly developed systems and sensors are to be tested on various industrial trucks under industrial conditions. The tests will focus primarily on robustness, scalability and data throughput in order to achieve a higher level of industrial maturity. The project began on April 1, 2019 and will run for 22 months.
