ABOUT THE PROJECT

Duration 09/2023 to 09/2025

Research area: Mobile robotics

The RoboLab2 project is the continuation of the predecessor project RoboLab1, which was successfully completed at the end of 2023, and builds on it.

The control station developed in RoboLab1 for the control, monitoring and visualization of robot experiments is being further developed for collaborative robotics.

The aim is the collaborative transportation of large components, such as long parts or flat components, by several mobile robots. The robots are to form a formation for this purpose and be loaded with a corresponding component, which is transported autonomously to a target position.

The core challenges of the project are the control and regulation of the robots, route planning for the overall formation and the recognition and processing of obstacle information.

As in RoboLab1, the VDA5050 standard interface is used as the basis for communication between the robot and the control station. Omnidirectional robot platforms are used, which are equipped with sensors and a special load support for the load.
