Welcome back!
Drawing in 2D was a piece of cake for you and you now want to draw in perspective, i.e., in 3D? If you still need some help with this, you’ll find a short video tutorial here.
This material was created by Franziska Hennig and is licensed under the CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 license. Link to the original source: https://digitallearninglab.de/media/UBaustein/mathe5final/Anhang/Film_Isometrisch_Zeichnen.mp4
For drawing in perspective, you will need isometric paper, which you can print out. This will make it easier for you! On the first page, there is a practice sheet with three simple basic shapes to trace. On the second page, you will then have space for the helicopter.
Isometric paper has vertical and diagonally right and diagonally left running lines. The object you want to draw is slightly rotated and tilted from the side view so that you can see three sides at once.
If you don’t have Lego at home but want to try drawing our Lego helicopter, you can look at the photo from the last mission again.
Next time, draw the three simple basic shapes from the practice sheet of the isometric paper, which you can find above to print out. Once you feel confident with the practice sheet, try drawing the helicopter on the blank isometric paper.
Of course, you can also download the solution for the perspective drawing. But here too, try it without looking at the solution first. Remember, it’s not bad if you don’t get it right at first, because you learn something from every mistake!
Until the next mission, you can share your results and experiences with others in the community and upload a photo of your drawings.
Until the next mission!
