Thematically the projects within the SPP 1679 are divided into three sections. Section A Dynamic Process Models is focussed on the development and implementation of new models for the description of the dynamic behavior of individual apparatusses or process steps for particle processing. In section B new Models for the description of solids properties are developed. In section C Algorithms and Processsimulation methods and algorithms are studied which are necessary for the simulation of complex process structures.

Additionally to these three sections there is a central project Z, in which the simulation framework is developed. This framework connects the modules developed in the iindividual projects to describe process chains. Main task of the framework is to control the caclulation sequence and to provide the information tarnsport between the indiviadual modules.
