Which soil can store water best?

Depending on the type of soil, earth can absorb different amounts of water. The grain size influences how much water a soil can store. The finer the grain of a soil, the more water it can hold.
Finally, the question remains: What kind of soil does my plant need?
There are also plants that have adapted to life in a specific type of soil. For example, cacti need very little water and can survive in sandy soils.
Maybe Steffie should get a few of them 😉
Task:
Do you know any other examples of plants that prefer a specific type of soil? Otherwise, research plant-soil pairings and share your results with the community.
