Kniffelix is a participatory experimentation blog where children and teenagers can examine tricky everyday puzzles. In our puzzles for beginners, we show through fun, short stories that our everyday life is full of exciting phenomena that can be easily understood. We want to encourage our young users to question everyday observations and uncover their backgrounds. Our missions for advanced users are intended for roughly middle school age and focus more on research and study orientation, but also in an exciting and entertaining way.
Kniffelix is a digital offering from KINDERFORSCHER AN DER TUHH, which was developed as part of the Hamburg Open Online University (HOOU) and is now being further developed by other sponsors such as the BMBF and Merck.

The following video offers an insight into the work of KINDERFORSCHER AN DER TUHH:
With Kniffelix, KINDERFORSCHER AN DER TUHH aims to encourage young online users outside of Hamburg to experiment. As part of the HOOU, we want to convey an understanding of how researchers work and build a bridge to the other university projects.
The goal of KINDERFORSCHER AN DER TUHH is to inspire future generations for science and technology and to awaken interest in professions in these fields. For this purpose, we also want to motivate educators and curious adults to experiment more with children. We provide materials with which they can conduct their own experimentation sessions for children.
