Implementation and Evaluation of Color-Intensity-Modulation (CIM) on an LP-FPGA
- Typ der Arbeit: Forschungsprojekt

Color Intensity Modulation (CIM) is a Modulation that is often used in optical communication systems. Similar to frequency shift keying in RF-communication, the carrier is changed in its color.
In this project work a color shift intensity modulation should be implemented and evaluated on a Low Power - Field Programmable Gate Array (LP-FPGA) to transmit data.
The goal is, to achieve a very low readout time of the selected sensor / high throughput, and to map the readings to previously selected symbols (colors). The implementation will be done on an Lattice ice40-FPGA. The color sensor (photodiode) and ADC can be researched and selected by the student.
