Ketchup behaves differently than water, even though it is also a liquid. It is a so-called non-Newtonian fluid, to which Newton’s descriptions do not apply. These stated that the more force is applied to liquids, the faster they flow.
How do non-Newtonian fluids behave? We want to find out in a series of experiments.
In the gallery below, you will learn how to proceed:
You can record your observations in the Kniffelix worksheet.
Task:
Carry out the series of experiments. What can you observe with the different liquids? Share your observations with others in the Kniffelix Community.
