As part of their “Ecosystem Research” profile course, the 12th grade class, led by teacher Olaf Zeiske, developed the Yeast! experiments with yeast. The students based their work on the educational content of their biology classes.
So far, so good. But the best experiment is useless without researchers to carry it out. How do you get the experiments to other students in the classroom?
The answer: with the Kniffelix Blog!:) To learn how to design an entertaining online experiment guide, eight students from the profile completed an internship at KinderForscher an der TUHH. The Yeast! editorial team was created.
Together with media educator Steffie from Kniffelix, they researched teaching requirements from curricula, filmed the experiment procedures, designed worksheets and explanatory texts, and put them together into small, fun online tutorials.
Not only many packs of yeast and sugar were used up during the internship week, but the cookie supply of the university cafeteria also rapidly decreased during that time;)

You can now see the result of all the editorial work here on the Kniffelix Blog. The Yeasties wish you lots of fun experimenting and are excited to see your results. Post it!;)
